Remembering Mike DeBoe

Mike Deboe, well known as DEF Mike has passed away last night. He was struggling to stay sober but relapsed and died of substance overdose.

I've known him since I was 14 years old. He was the most loud and hyper person, so passionate about bringing a community together, loved the way making profits or the way money smelled to him. He also loved music which inspired him to host numerous of parties in surfing style, embraced surfing lifestyle.

He was also one of the most clean freak I ever met. I went to his apartments and he was the only man I know that loved to clean.

Ocean to him is the best sex he could have. When he's down, he went to the beach and immersed him into the ocean. He's also the enabler, highly driven force; he always said, c'mon, let's party! Meet friends, beautiful sexy women, boozes and let's party as his belief to celebrate the unique of the community he loved.

I never thought I'd say that with tears in my eyes that he's def number one in my book today. You, Mike, is loved by many of those you know and the others that you haven't known.

YES! We all loved Michael so very very much. This has been so clear by the outpouring of love and support from his hundreds and hundreds of loving friends and relatives, We miss you and love you for the bigger than life person that you are. We will never, ever forget you, Michael.

As for the sick anonymous cockroach that posted such disgusting comments, go crawl back into your black hole! You will never know the love that Michael has, and no one will care when it is your time. You must be very jealous of what you will never be. How pathetic!

  17. I met Mike in 1988 when he was still in Junior High in Manhattan Beach and we had all of the same friends and we would all meet up South Side of Manhattan Beach Pier and Surf all day and in 1993 my friends and I were living next to El Tarasco Mexican restaurant right next door on Rosecrans and he had a VW bug and he would always want to drive and he would blast the music and he would be dancing in his seat and then he moved in with us along with his girlfriend. One night Mike and his girlfriend left the house and the rest of us who lived there we all left to head to a party and then we came back home and we were walking past El Tarasco and we heard loud music coming from our house and we couldn't hear anything else except for the music so we proceeded up the stairs and opened the door and all we see is our house is full of people and they are all using sign language and the rest of us didn't know how to use sign language so we pulled out notepads so we're talking to them on the notepads and we all had a great time and most of us all grew up together though we never hung out together like that night Mike was a really good guy i Miss him and our talks through TTY
