My friend, Sal, is right about one thing: My mom did not lose her battle with cancer. My mom has won the battle. While she's catching up with her mom (my grandma) in heaven, dancing with my friends, eating baby ribs and having summertime margaritas; the cancer was left to die in the body my mom has left behind.
